It would have been a rare and special sight. Except the fact that the moon didn't appear towards that view.
But still, a small and bright star stood out from the dark, black sky of the night.
A wave of nostalgia came.
Only this time, it wasn't the starting of the spark of flame.
It was the ending of a candle.
Only this time, the midnight sky wasn't filled with glittering stars.
A single star was all that remained.
But maybe that one star is all that is needed. After all, it too was also a rare sight.
Or maybe, just like the rest of the stars, it will fade out of view.
For now,
the glimmer of a starlight in the shadow of the day
is all that remains.
